Out of Touch - Intro to Sensuality

Sensation is an important aspect of our lives. It is a survival mechanism that helps us distinguish the world around us, and understand the dangers and benefits it has to offer. It is a gift of life.

Pleasurable sensations add yet another layer of nuance and excitement to our existence. However, the toil and turmoil of modern life often discourages us to truly appreciate this gift. In fact, more and more of us are losing contact with ourselves every day.

  • Have you found yourself so busy, you’ve lost your self-awareness?
  • Wish you can feel emotions and sensations as you once did, in the “good ol’ times?”
  • Find yourself to be less ticklish than before; do foods lose their flavor and appeal?
  • Is it difficult to describe what is going on in and around your body?
  • Do some of your body parts feel numb when your hands or clothing brush over them?
  • Are you reluctant to do things, go to places, or be with people that you once admired and enjoyed?
  • Are you afraid to find out what and who you loved just doesn’t excite you anymore?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, know you are not alone. I myself have struggled with this. Many of us are going through the same struggles, but we are discouraged from ever talking about it. We are also discouraged from speaking candidly about the traumas we face, even the very "little" ones.

This space is for us to discuss our experiences and discover our sensual nature—freely. In future posts, I will share my personal experiences, my reasons for starting this blog, and I will also explore different ways we can rekindle and foster our sensuality. Also, be on the lookout for The Pleasure Chronicles Podcast (links posted on my profile)!

Thanks for reading. See you at the next page,
